History - Mollycroft is a Showman Wagon, last owned by a family operating a fairground coconut shy. The beautiful 'Living Wagon', built in Dagenham, 1949 still retains much of its original mahogany interior. It’s adorned with cut glass mirrors, chrome fittings and chandeliers. With additions such as a shower room and an outside deck area, staying here would surely make for a unique and memorable glamping holiday.
Inside - Mollycroft has three distinct rooms. Through the main stable type door you enter the central living area with a kitchen containing sink, fridge and a gas oven. A wood burning stove, surrounded by Mahogany and a cut glass mirror provides warmth and is adjacent to upholstered seating. A free basket of logs is provided for you to burn and in cooler weather.
Through a sliding door, the bedroom has a double bed which is positioned to provide morning views across the fields. At the other end of the wagon is the washroom. As well as a shower, the washroom also contains a hand basin and a dry toilet. The toilet uses the Swedish designed, ‘Separett’ system which cleverly separates waste to virtually eliminate all unpleasant smells. Ecological credits are enhanced even further by all the hot water in Mollycroft being harvested from rainwater.
Other interior features include the ceilings, painted by Graffiti artist Xenz - A modern and interesting twist to the Showman’s tradition of elaborately decorating their ceilings.
